Training Treats For Puppy Perfection!
All responsible pet owners should train their pets the basic commands such as sit, down, come, and stay. One of the most effective ways to reinforce good behavior is by using training treats. Your happy praise paired with a small and scrumptious treat will help to encourage good behaviour. Be generous with treats and lots of verbal petting.
Here are a few tips to help you successfully train your dog with treats:
1. Make sure the treats are favored by your pup. Ideally, you want your pup to do ANYTHING to get a treat.
2. Keep the treats small, so as to not over eat. Training treats should not mimic a meal.
3. Make sure the treats are easy to eat; if it takes your pet a while to chew the treat, it will interrupt the training.
4.Use a small plastic zip-loc bag to contain the treats. This will avoid spillage and maintain the intended use for the treats
